Strengths

Often those who live a lifestyle aligned with SKILL indulge in moments of contentment when they are engaged in intense mental or physical challenges when they find themselves in “the zone”. The satisfaction from these deeply rewarding activities of growth and learning serves as a motivational boost allowing them to push through the lulls and on to greater improvement. When this is rounded out through maintaining strong relationships and connections, they find themselves going to bed each night confident of their place in the world. When life throws challenges in their way, they can face them with confidence in themselves to tackle any obstacle.

Challenges

Common challenges for a SKILL driven lifestyle include maintaining fulfilling relationships and finding time for mindful stillness. It may be difficult to find the time and patience to indulge in more deeply satisfying relationships. Without these, however, the pursuit of personal growth can leave a person with feelings of emptiness and alienation. Spending more time in ways that reconnect with the world such as resonant conversations with friends or being part of a group where those physical and mental skills are used in the service of others can add a more deeply satisfying balance. Another frequent challenge faced by those living aligned with SKILL is the mental and physical exhaustion due to the intensity of these interests. Being mindful to set aside time to recharge and replenish will keep energy and motivation levels high and stable. Simple meditations, moments listening to music, or going for a walk outside are effective ways to slow down.
