Balance: Overview

Those driven by a lifestyle of BALANCE see the harmony between physically, mentally, and emotionally satisfying activities. They appreciate that all three facets of fulfillment are critical to deep contentment. While a common target ambition, this lifestyle is challenging to actualize as balancing the time spent fulfilling the mind, body and connection in equal parts typically requires significant intention. When comfortably achieved, however, this deliberate harmony allows flexibility to follow inspiration and drive fulfilling use of free time. The result is often satisfying, deep contentment, both in the moment and when broadly considering one’s life.

Strengths

Often those who live a lifestyle aligned with BALANCE have experimented with many types of activities to find their perfect individual blend. They often have deeply fulfilling relationships and have already discovered the rewards of pursuing activities in the service of others. They are good at staying healthy and don’t shy away from a good sweat. And they also know enjoy learning and the joy of being “in the zone”. Their sense of balance allows them to push and pull different facets of their life as needed to improve their emotional state (such as choosing between a good workout or a meditation session when stressed). Embracing this harmony and the opportunities it offers is a perpetual wellspring of evolving fulfillment.             

Challenges

Common challenges for a BALANCE lifestyle may include an incessant drive for “more”. With limited time and resources, there is never the ability to do everything. Balancing to nurture our emotional, mental, and physical growth requires sacrifice and a healthy sense of prioritization. Introspection on the activities that bring the most satisfying sense of fulfillment and contentment will stave off the unhealthy pursuit of activities that are extrinsically inspired. Another frequent challenge is mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion. Being mindful to set aside time to recharge and replenish will keep energy and motivation levels high and stable.
